Final Post

Conn3ctYou is a unique application with one of a kind software, it will not only allow you to save dates and times from your Microsoft outlook but it will input dates for exams, quizzes and homework from blackboard into your Google calendar. How? The software will read the dates off syllabi and input them into a calendar that will automatically connect with your Google calendar. The application will even feature a study calendar and a layout of content necessary to study each day!
To make this idea a reality Conn3ctYou will create software that will be able to read information from the syllabi in blackboard and save it to database. This will take out the step to manually inputting data into the calendars (of course the teachers must use put their syllabus in blackboard). Conn3ctYou will provide Microsoft Office with a feature that saves emails that contains meeting times and sends the information to the Conn3ctYou database. The database will use cloud computing to store its massive amount of information. The database will have access to user accounts but will provide ultimate security so that their information is safe and they feel comfortable using our application.
To make this idea a reality I needed to look at the business side of it. The application will provide much value to the customer because it will conveniently help them be organized. Conn3ctYou;s unique software for reading data than transcribing it into a database will help distinguish it from competitors. Social media outlets will be a vital source for adverting the product because our main consumers use it in their everyday lives (instagram, Facebook, twitter etc.).  Using the correct secure networks will further aid to making our consumers feel safe sharing their information into the database. To start this idea I will need to focus first on software that can transcribe certain aspects of the syllabi and send it to the database. Second I will need Google, blackboard and Microsoft to work with my company and finally create the application to then market.
Through the semester my idea became more focused with the knowledge I gained from class. IST 195 allowed me to use this knowledge to my advantage and see how things work to create something of my own. I modified my original idea a great deal and made it focus on a convenience for my customer. Taking the step of inputting data away would provide much value to the customer (it will help them save time). I change my idea from an alarm clock that sends you necessary school and meeting information to a real application that can help modify a calendar to contain the necessary information without manually inputting the data.
Overall this was a great experience, I learned more aspects about technology and became more creative toward my entrepreneurial idea. Once I create the application it will be very easy to advertise the venture and create awareness for the consumer. Conn3ctYou can thrive in the market because of its convenience and uniqueness. Once the application is our more features can be added to really help get students organized.

Databases

Conn3ctYou is a unique app with one of a kind software, this app will not only allow you to save dates and times from your Microsoft outlook but it will input dates for exams, quizzes and homework from blackboard into your Google calendar. How? The software will read the dates off syllabi and input them into a calendar that will automatically connect with your Google calendar. The application will even feature a study calendar and a layout of content necessary to study each day!
Databases will be essential for Conn3ctYou because information from the syllabi will be stored for each class. Once the student registers their specific class and school the data will automatically appear. Databases will help modify the data and only omit information the individual student wants. To make it convenient for our consumers our site would have scroll down menus for our students to chose the type of data they want in their calendars.
For example the students can choose the specific classes they want in their calendars and test dates or include homework dates as well. The database will see the relationships/ difference from test, teacher, and homework dates and differentiate them in the calendar. The database will allow large quantities of data to be stored and individualize data for each specific school.
Each attribute (homework, test, teacher, school, and class) will help specify data to each individual student. The database will not only allow Conn3ctYou to store and mange data but make it faster and more convenient to access information. Since Conn3ctYou strives off convenience using a database will be essential for our company.

Networking Post

Conn3ct You is a unique app with one of a kind software, this app will not only allow you to save dates and times from your Microsoft outlook but it will input dates for exams, quizzes and homework from blackboard into your Google calendar. How? The software will read the dates off syllabi and input them into a calendar that will automatically connect with your Google calendar.
In order to simplify the process of accessing our software online Conn3ctYou will contain the .edu domain name. Also by having the edu domain name we are in a restricted space to provide our customers security. We would have Secure Sockets Layer (https) to further ensure the information of our customers is secure.
In order to make our site even more accessible we will register you.edu. At this moment this site is not register and will provide easy access to our customers. Our site will display the Google academic calendars that have information pulled from blackboard.
The convenience of Conn3ctYou will be a vital focus for our customers as well as our security. The website would combine information from both the Google calendar and blackboard to create a calendar that contain academic and work information. The purpose of this calendar is that it automatically inputs data from blackboard and meetings from email/Google calendar.

                                                  Professional Blogger Review
James Trew is European technology journalist that is currently situated in London. He wrote for magazines in the 90’s before he started to write about IT/telecoms. Trew’s blog examines new technology and informs the public in a fun entertaining way. In ‘lamense’ terms he educates the public every week with a sum on new technological advances.
Trew has a very captivating blogging style; this makes it so readers actually want to read his blog. I found myself reading multiple posts because it was so entertaining and interesting. He engages the reader with pictures and in one paragraph eloquently gets his point across. Overall Trew is an excellent blogger.

Lecture Post: The Cloud

Conn3ct You is a unique app with one of a kind software, this app will not only allow you to save dates and times from your Microsoft outlook but it will input dates for exams, quizzes and homework from blackboard into your Google calendar. How? The software will read the dates off syllabi and input them into a calendar that will automatically connect with your Google calendar.

Cloud computing will be vital to Conn3ctYou. Through the cloud we will be allow us to store information from Blackboard and in the Google calendar. Our company would save much money through cloud computing because it would not only store our customer individualistic information but will help us automatically connect different vital websites. The cloud would also contain security as a service for any information the client inputs into the software.

Network as a service would help to connect blackboards information to transport data to Google calendar. Thus bringing information directly to the customer and eliminating the hassle of inputting data themselves. Platform as a service would also be provided to offer applications that would allow our client to personalize their calendar (font, color, design).

Cloud computing will help to make Conn3ct You fast and easy to use. Everything will be simplified and personalized so that our customer will be comfortable with not only the information they put in but the way their data looks. They would be able to set their own reminders and integrate information as they please.
